What is the Best Way to Grow Medical Marijuana?

Medical Marijuana grows well indoors. All you need is a place to grow, some good organic soil, containers, seeds, light and water. Growing in an organic soil is the best. It gives your buds a better flavor and aroma. Soil is also the easiest way to learn how to grow because it is more forgiving than hydroponics.

What is Hydroponics?

Hydroponics is where the plants are grown in a soilless medium and fed nutrients through the water. The nutrients are chemical fertilizer.

How much will one Marijuana plant yield?

Plants yields vary. A plant can be 1 foot tall or 10 feet tall. I would say if you get ½ a gram per watt of light, you are doing just fine.

How do I know which type of Medical Marijuana to grow?

Medical Marijuana is broken down to 2 categories, sativas and indicas.

Sativas have a more heady euphoric type high to them. They take longer to flower and need much more space than indicas.

Indicas have a more pain relief body stone to them. They are short squat plants that yield well for their size usually.

What temperature should the grow room be?

Medical Marijuana can withstand temperatures from freezing to over 100F. Temperatures above 75F will increase growth rate. Ideal temps will be 75F to 80F.

When should I start to flower my Medical Marijuana plants?

It depends on two things, the size of the grow space and the size of your plants.

New growers should begin flowering their plants once the height of 24 inches is reached. Depending on the strain, you could get as much as double the height after the plant stretches during flower. To start flowering, set the light schedule to 12 hours lights on and 12 hours lights off, called 12/12.

As someone who has never grown before, I really enjoyed all of the tips about preparing seeds, ph levels, ect. in your april issue of greenleaf. However, I did miss the previous article in last month’s issue. I live in the white mountains and none of the stores, including safeway, have your magazine available. Are you aware of any place up here (in the showlow area), that I can obtain your magazine; Your articles are great.
